Waiting Patiently

Waiting.
Patience.
Patient.

What does it mean to wait? What does it mean to be patient? What does it take to be patient?
I've been thinking a lot about this lately. Patience is one of the hardest things I'm learning. I know God has been teaching me patience the past couple years. I just know it. In many many areas of my life, I'm learning to trust God, and be patient. It's hard. I'm not going to lie. I want my whole life figured out; I'm a high school junior! People ask us what we are going to do with our life all the time! Oh how I wish I had it all figured out. I wish I knew where I'd go to college. I wish I knew what I'd major in. I wish I knew what job I would get. I wish I knew who I'm going to marry. I want it all figured out.

But it's not my decision. It's Gods.

God has a plan for me. He has a GREAT plan for me. He knows where I'll go, what I will do, and who I'll marry. He not only knows the big things in life, but he knows all the small things as well. He knows what each friendship's purpose is. He knows how every test, every exam will turn out. He knows which activities you will be involved in and why.

He has it all figured out.

So why do we still worry? Why can't we just trust in God and His plans for us?
We can't see what God sees. He has the grand, bigger picture and knows exactly what we need. Each position He puts us in has a reason. A purpose. We may not know that reason, but because God knows our future, we have to know that where we are in this exact moment is exactly where we are supposed to be. We have to trust that God has our best in mind and will provide for us. Because he does and He loves us very much

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11
